Matt Luke already has more SEC wins at Ole Miss than Ed.
All you VGT's keep referencing Orgeron's record at Ole Miss, which is Ancient Fricking History and is not valid any longer. Come up with something new please.

Orgeron has gone 12-4 in the SEC and has destroyed the PC Massa Wife Rebearsharks the last two seasons.

That's the only relevant statistic as of late and the only thing that really matters.

What have you done for me lately?

Kiffins only successful coaching stint is where he is now, and he's looking to bolt after a year. Again. He's the kardashian of the coaching world.

MSU nailed their hire.

I'll concede the Raiders

He was turning Tennessee around but bolted for a top 5 job in USC

He was 7-6.

His first 2 years at USC were very good but the NCAA sanctions crippled them. No one could survive that

He was 8-5, and 10-2 his first 2 years. His 3rd year they were preseason #1 and finished 7-6 and unranked. His 3rd year, they fired him and left his arse at the airport

Again, I just don't see all the hype. He's got one double digit win season, before this year, and burns bridges everywhere he goes.

He went 7-6 at UT during a time they had zero business being competitive given their QB situation, the overall roster, etc.

He also did far better at USC than most want to give him credit for given their scholarship reductions (30!). His losing started once that roster got thin and they bailed on him b/c of it.

I think he can be a very, very good HC. I'm not so sure I'd want him at my school due to all the stuff that goes on around him, but as far as coaching goes, he's a good coach who can flat recruit and his players love him.

You know the context around this right? That was going to be a very tough job for anyone.

As a Bama fan, I don't think you should if something happened to Saban. Obviously Arkansas and Bama aren't shopping for coaches in the same aisle. FTR, I don't think it happens anyway.

So winning at Vandy is the same as winning at Bama?

7-6 with blowout wins over UGA and Carolina. Blocked lost only on a blocked kick in Tuscaloosa to the only undefeated team Saban ever had.

Also played a very competitive game in the swamp that year. UT was miles better than they were in 08. He made Jon Crompton look like a top 5 sec QB that year.

Yep, yet thread after thread after thread keeps being brought up about why LSU fan is so obsessed about other schools. Seems to me it's the other fan bases that continue to make LSU part of the thread when it has nothing to do with us!

New flash, we have a chance to win 10 games with a first year coach, play Notre Dame in an NY6 bowl.
So let the other fan bases continue to melt.

For personal reasons, I want Lane at UA and Leach at UT.

I've heard that about every coach Arkansas has hired since their induction into the SEC, 1992 I think it is. Not one SEC title.

Just saying.

If Kiffin's a Kardashian what's Orgeron?

Nah.

It is a good hire. He's too much of an unknown at a major program to be considered a home run, at this point.

I know the context but they were ranked #1 preseason, so a lot of people must have thought they had some legit talent on that team. O managed to go 6-2.

I just don't see where people think he is a savior, he's be below average to average everywhere he's been, he seems to be a very good coordinator though so who knows.

I think it is somewhere in the middle here. That last part isn't true though, even you woudn't consider the turn around at FAU average. Did you see their record last year?

Also, don't forget they ruled that USC players were eligible to transfer without sitting out.

Most credible football analysts called it a death penalty.

So it's his fault that people didn't pay attention to attrition due to lack of scholarships and transfers?

Or maybe people just ranked them way to high?
