BuccWild is crying somewhere. He had all his eggs in the Gus Malzahn to Texas basket.

Supposedly negotiated for upgrades around the facilities and other non salary items as well.

Crazy thing is, they were top of the mark five years ago after the last upgrades

It's an arms race.

Come on, bro. You were pimping "Gus Malzahn to Texas" in every thread about a future replacement to Mack Brown. Let's not sit here and deny it now. FWIW, I don't think Nick Saban is going to Texas either, there is just no chance in my mind. However, he is more likely to go there than Gus Malzahn.

Money is not everything to everyone...

Auburn is about to do a total re-haul of the athletic complex, along with many other things.

I tried to tell you.

this will sound like sour grapes but those that are familiar if any, will know I don't mean anything by it but I think it is crazy to give him a big raise after one successful season in which he will likely win at least an sec championship but may also lose. Fantastic turn around but it is only one season. Texas was never going to offer a HC with only one season of HC experience at a major program a contract so its not like they needed to increase his pay to retain him.

He deserves, let's him know Auburn is behind him and becomes paid like one of the better SEC coaches, which he is.

I agree if he wins an sec championship, but Auburn and Alabama both prospered from a less than stellar SEC this year. This Bama team and Auburn team would likely have 2-3 losses if facing last years Georgia, LSU and aTm teams. Not saying either definitely loses those games but I just think it was too soon unless someone actually makes a run at him.

So much for Texas being Gus's dream job. I am beginning to believe that Brown will return as coach of Texas next year. The sips will commit mass suicide.

Sexton got deal #1 done. Now time for deal #2, aka doubling nicks salary to go to texas.
