What? Woody could have thought he had his guy. If Riley told him he was coming, what was he supposed to do? There is zero chance he is sitting back laughing at the reaction to all that has been going on the past 36 hours. He can’t get everybody’s dick hard to Riley for 2 weeks and try to finish us off with Mark Stoops or Brian Kelly. Both of whom are good coaches, but he can’t let everybody get their hopes up, and then try to sell us on a clearly inferior option. Or at least one he knows will be perceived as inferior. That would be a terrible handling of PR and honestly makes no sense.
