He had a recent article that stated Miles's buyout was being reworked to a flat figure, 5-6 mill I believe, regardless of how much time is left in the contract.
Helps soften the decision to hire Kragthorpe. Adding insult to injury was Belowpar's earlier tidbit that we did not get to the Boise St. OC in time (Texas hired him).

We need to run the football and play good defense to win in the SEC. When LSU is at its best, we pound the rock and play good defense. No more of this spread $hit. Let's have a power running game and let Chavis do his thing.

We never fully ran that. We'd run 1 series of a spread running attack, 1 series of two back, and then a series of spread passing with a different QB.
The LSU 2010 offense was a grab bag of suck.

So you want more of the same as the last 2 years.
Got it.

you just wanted to be the first person to ever put those words together in that order aren't you?

We didn't run the ball well in 2009. FACT.
Also, if you rewatch our games you'll notice how many times we went five wide. Our most successful drives were when Jefferson or Lee was actually under center. Lee was three step drops and Jefferson rolling out.

That can't be right.

there was talk all along that both LSU and Miles did not think the current contract was fair and that the buyout would be reworked. Just talk here and there, no link.

I'll add to that:
I would love to see more playaction that works.

You are correct. I looked at the article again and he quoted Martin as saying that it would be in the $4-5 million range.
I would provide the link, but am on the iPhone.

shameless bump. I need to keep coming back to the comfort of the buyout during this dark hour.
