Not saying the info about Muschamp is untrue but it doesn't make much sense to go after Muschamp but not go after Malzhan for lack of head coaching experience.Muschamp has the same amount of head coaching experience as Malzhan does.None.I think this is a Texas fan being paranoid.May be true but i think I'd at least interview Malzhan if i'm going to interview Muschamp.

Just to put things in perspective, in 2005 Malzahn was coaching high school ball while Muschamp was coaching in the pros.
Not to mention, Muschamp has more than double the amount of Malzahn's college experience.

Well, Searles and Muschamp were on staff at the same time. Most likely good friends. Searles is such a nice guy. I figured he would be up for HC in the near future.

Yeah, Muschamp is lobbying to get Searles.
But, Searles' mom is very ill and Richt has made accommodations for him by setting his recruiting responsibilities in her area. It's doubtful he'll leave UGA.

I think with Muschamp at least acting as if he has a wandering eye, he is trying to force Mack's hand to make him come forth with a definite exit strategy.

It's kinda a bitch, but it's probably the best/easiest job in the country.
Great pay.
Recruiting pretty much takes care of itself.
Conference is above average but not stellar.
Cool location.
It's a job worth waiting for, especially with the coin he is making.

MattFlynnRox,I'm not discrediting Muschamps' pedigree or the Texas' guys info(He's an admin on a Texas board,you do the math.He's a Texas fan)but Miami has said straight out that they would hire a coach with head coaching experience.That is the reason they haven't contacted Malzhan.Why would they say that and then completely contradict themselves by contacting Muschamp?Not saying it hasn't happened because they seem to be getting a litle desperate but it just doesn't make logical sense to me based on what the Miami ad has said.Personally i'd take Muschamp over Malzhan based purely on his coaching style but Malzhan is the hottest guy in the business right now and they need somebody with a buzz to save their recruiting.

Statements are broken all the time during coaching searches. In the Minnesota search, their officials came out and said they would get a brand name like Tubby Smith as their coach--instead they ended up with Jerry Kill.

1) Because those kinds of statements really don't mean all that much.
2) Because they are running out of viable candidates that fit that description and would still make a splash.
