First off, the season has only been over for a week.

Secondly, we are not going to fire/promote/demote coaches until something else is lined up.

Third, why on earth would you publicize the details of your coaching search to the morons on the rant? It makes no sense.

Yes. I think Miles is doing the classy thing. He's letting our current coaches (the ones that are being let go) find other jobs so that he doesn't have to technically "fire" them. There's really no rush at all to officially announce the new DC if in fact the new DC won't be coaching the bowl game.

As long as the new DC knows he's got the job and it's a done deal (assuming he's not coaching the bowl game), why not just do the right thing and let your current coaches find another job rather than tarnish their resume ... not to mention the aforementioned recruiting reasons so that Miles can take more in-home visits once the current staff does start to leave to other jobs.

I have heard that Tenuta is like John Brady but can coach.

First, unless someone is being considered for a HC position then the DC pos at LSU under Miles is about as good as its gonna get. Great pay, great boss, incredible talent to work with, and after last year the fans have very little expectations (hmmm).

Bumpas (DC at TCU)
Campo (DB coach w/ Cowboys)
Chavis ("fired" from Tenn) - available
Koenning (fired from Clemson DC) - available
Orgeron (DL coach w/ Saints)
Rhoads ("fired" from Auburn DC) - available
Robinson (fired from Syracuse HC)- available
Tenuta (on staff at ND)

There are four prominent candidates available at present. You would think if any of these was "the man" AND he is not being considered at a HC pos elsewhere that an announcement would be imminent.

Hold on = I was agreeing with the logic of having an agreement in place, just not formalizing it because Miles could get extra visits. However, that would only work if there are vacancies on the staff. Additionally, we have a dead period starting in a couple of weeks. Where would any supposed benefit to this plan be gained if there are no vacancies on the staff? Do we wait until after signing day?

That's all I was asking. I recognized that there was some soundness to the point, but asking how we will actually gain benefit from the situation.
