Doeren is a mediocre coach at best. He has a losing record in ACC play, and a worse record than the man he replaced.

State fans would be happy to offload him and Vols have every right to be pissed about this.

Not that he's elite, and considering it's been said a trillion times here, they need to go ahead and hire Miles. Yeah he may be stubborn, but there aren't too many coaches around that have national titles on their resumes, and I'm fairly positive he'd be interested. Even if he isn't there long, he's by far the best they could possibly get, they'll be very good for 4-5 years, and would be a great stepping stone to another coach who is very good/elite that Tennessee fans want later on. Real talk though, hire Les Miles and end this fiasco. It's their best bet.

So you are saying it would be a fricking homerun hire at this point then?

Sounds like your family is a bunch of rich, front running, crybaby, sissy-girls

Go for Lane again and include a prohibitive liquidated damages clause upon a possible breach considering what happened in 2009, dude is ON FIRE at FAU 3-9 to 9-3 with a prolific offense DO IT

No.

Given that his record drops as the competition improves I expect him to do very poorly in the SEC.

Lane would be a great, and hilarious hire.

Hell, Miles would be better than Doeren.

Y'all shouldn't have cried so much about the Schiano hire he could have been good if given the chance, now your gonna be stuck with leftovers. The best hope for you now is maybe hire Les and let him recruit and build the program back up.

If Schiano was as legendary a coach as people are arguing he is, the powers that be with the power of the pen would've ignored all the noise and all the parties would've signed the MOU but apparently they didn't think THAT highly of him to remain steadfast despite all that bull and therefore the deal fell through. I think Schiano was a Haslam selection pure and simple dating back to his pro connections otherwise he'd have been a hotly pursued HC candidate.

Hollow threat. The stadium has 100K+ seats for a reason. If 20K cancel tickets, another 20K will buy them.

It's almost like Tennessee fams are trying to put out the dumpster fire by spraying gasoline on it.

What if I told you that Doreon is actually a good football coach does that change your mind? Or are you still going to give up your tickets

They just had Kirk Herbstreit on and he spoke to Peyton Manning and he was super excited about Schiano being hired he had called Urban Meyer and he had called coach Belichick all had high praise for Schiano.

Peyton Manning is the poster child for Tennessee he likes Schiano

I’m a UVa man - and I’m just here for the entertainment.

I feel obliged to correct the record though when people say crazy things, like Doerens a good hire.

Look at what people do, not what they say.

Did Manning try to save Schiano?
