They just had Kirk Herbstreit on and he spoke to Peyton Manning and he was super excited about Schiano being hired he had called Urban Meyer and he had called coach Belichick all had high praise for Schiano.

Then they should've used their collective clout as INCREDIBLY INFLUENTIAL sports-related public figures to ensure UT locked into Schiano as their HC but they didn't because Schiano's not the Tennessee HC nor was/is he receiving any other HC offers. That indicates to me that Schiano wasn't a sure thing HC by any means to them otherwise they would've overlooked the hearsay deposition that's been public record FOR OVER A YEAR and not caved to the state legislators' and protesters' whims when they all started acting da fool and proceeded to, IMHO, ruin this man's reputation probably irreparably especially the idiot who desecrated that rock by tagging that Schiano "covered up child rape" which is an incredible and dangerous reach to make if we're judging simply based off the deposition that's been denied by both Schiano and Bradley.

I feel obliged to correct the record though when people say crazy things, like Doerens a good hire.

How is that crazy? Look at the man's record at NIU and NC State.
If you don't include his first year at NC State, he's doing about as well as you can expect. The man's team beat FSU (down year), syracuse, Pitt and Louisville. Losses to South Carolina and @Wake Forest were not "good losses," but otherwise lost to Notre Dame and Clemson. All games were competitive.

Check Saban's record before LSU hired him. I'm not saying Doeren is Saban, but to say it's crazy is a stretch.

I think his style would be effective and bring stability to Tennessee.

If they get him, they should be happy and take a prove it approach. Tennessee isn't getting a top tier coach... especially this year.
