Has anybody heard anything about Bolt being promoted from within? I haven't heard anything serious, just some grumblings and wanted to see if anybody else has heard anything. I sure as god hope not.

I think if that was going to happen it would have already.
If for some reason it did happen I would be pissed.

Student22 from the Scout board said he may coach lb's during the bowl game but he wasn't being considered for the DC. He works inside the AD and I've never known him to be wrong about this kind of stuff.

Thanks Marshall.
Had an interesting night tonight. Had some drinks with Jack Crowe, former OC under Pat Dye and current head coach of Jacksonville St. He had some great things to say about Chizik, and he was actually a grad assistant for Crowe. Apparently Trooper was a GA for him at one point as well. Said a lot of nice things about him.
He didn't have much insight on the DC position though. He did however throw out some curious info. He said Penn. State is going to throw a serious offer at Saban, told to him by a PSU alum who knows Saban pretty well. Said Saban grew up a PSU fan. Just found it interesting.

It is weird that Stoops has not even beeen contacted according to Jimbo but some Auburn insiders insist he has. I personally don't want Ellis Johnson, but I think Shannon, Stoops, or Joe Whitt Jr. would be awesome.

You don't always have to go through the HC to contact somebody. Either way, he could just be saying that for recruiting purposes. I'm pretty sure he has been contacted.

My guess is that a lot of this "pre-contact" goes thru the agent to gauge any interest in the job first. If there is, than it moves forward.

This is who I want, in that order.

This. And it works in reverse, too. Agent asks client for group of jobs that are or will be open that he has interest or potential interest in. Then the agent can, when contacted about other clients, communicate that he has multiple clients interested.
