Stop the Riley hype

His own fan base is 50/50 on him. I have a membership on the sooner scoop. All they do is complain about how soft he is as a leader/coach. Talk about how Aranda defense dominates his gimmicky offense. He inherits a powerhouse and they’ve seen no improvements since stoops. I will say he’s very young and should improve as a coach but right now he’s not the messiah. I’ll take mega mind back over him

I’ll keep the hype going

So sooners fans are stupid? Because he's an excellent coach and would very likely win a national championship here within 4 years.

There are people STILL pumping for Orgeron.
Fans are morons.
Fans are morons.

He just lost a game. Of course they're pissed off right now. His overall record is 54-9. That isn't hype.

It’s funny cause they say the same thing about us.

Riley is my #1 and anybody with half a brain he would be their number 1 too. I’m not saying I would be mad at Dave or some of the others mentioned, but Riley is the man.

Why is he your #1? Have you ever watched OU play? Or do you just see the impressive record against cupcake teams. He’s won 1 big game against Ohio state with mayfield. Name another big win?? Aranda owns his arse

Stupid post is stupid. Be better man.

Exactly. When has OU any semblance of a defense since he's been there?
Posted on 11/15/21 at 2:15 pm to High Life
He puts up mostly competitive games vs other playoff teams and he would be incredible with the skill position talent Louisiana produces. Just think of all the NFL Wrs we have in the league and think of Riley coaching all of those guys with a Heisman level QB every other year

Ok! But guess what bud he will be coach at LSU next year if he chooses.
Posted on 11/15/21 at 2:59 pm to High Life
He's 38 years old and already one of the more innovate minds in the game. I have faith that he's going to be able to figure it out over the next 30 years as LSUs Head Coach.

Prove you're a scoop member.
Who are the best posters or who posts the most?
Anyway, OU fans know OU's program more than anyone else. Duh.
Are there a lot of dumb OU fans? Duh.
I would say 90+% want to keep Lincoln but they're also frustrated.
Not because of one loss. Fans, who are able to pay attention, know that OU doesn't have a talent problem. Sure, like most teams, there are some holes or shortcomings, but OU didn't get beat by Baylor, for example, because of talent.
What this team is missing? Leadership, hunger, passion, heart, any of those buzzwords. Us OU fans literally argue about who the leader is on the team (player-wise). Hint: there isn't one. They had 3-4 last year and they're now in the NFL. There's a massive void there.
The defense isn't chitty because of talent either. While they might be less talented than Bama, UGA, or even LSU, they're plenty talented enough to play above average. They're giant p-words. Talk a lot and then they get dragged by average offenses.
Lincoln is awesome, but he's like a parent who tries to be best friends with their kids instead of teaching and disciplining. Former Stoops players laugh at the current softness on this team.
Also, Lincoln has been to the playoffs 4 times. All four of those appearances (and losses sadly) were with transfer QBs. He's had his QB (Rattler and now Caleb) for the 2nd year in row and it looks like OU's about to not make the playoffs for the 2nd year in row.
Like most OU fans, I wouldn't want Lincoln fired but I also wouldn't be entirely sad if he left (it would be for the NFL). I'd be nervous about the next hire, sure. For Lincoln's sake, he'd be better in the NFL ala Kinsgbury. I digress.

I don’t get the fanboy hype for Riley on this board. Everything you said was right on.
