Stability or potential?

I keep reading Jimbo would bring back stability. I read that as "we will be 8-4 on bad years and 10-2 in the exceptional ones". While most programs would take that in a heartbeat, we are LSU and have championship pedigree. Les Miles was stable. Is that what we want as fans? LSU really forking out $100+ mil for that?!?
On to potential. Maybe the "young guns' like Aranda/Napier/Campbell/Tucker(young as HC) and the like will certainly bring a little more uncertainly that Fisher. I think most of us believe the ceilings for these guys are unknown and possibly higher than Jimbo.
As an LSU fan, which direction would excite you the most? For me, I would take any of the "higher risk/higher reward guys" in a heartbeat.

Tucker and aranda at least offer similar floors with upside
Jimbo has enough data to say what he is

Come on around to Tucker
There’s room on this wagon

If it's a Tucker vs Fisher decision...C'mon on down Mel!

They have losing conference records. There is no upside in that.
Tucker is 10-11 in conference games.
Aranda is 6-8 in conference games.
If you cannot compete within your own weak conference, you're never getting to the playoffs. And they don't even have a bowl game between them. That's career suicide for Woodward.

My mind won’t ever let me get past Aranda choosing Kendall McCallum over Christian Harris
It’s a mental block

I'm primed towards intelligence and Aranda is by far the smartest/best tactician of any target....by a WIDE margin.
People just shite on Aranda for this mythical inability to recruit.

We're about to hire the most expensive coach in CFB who can't compete within his own conference and isn't close to the playoffs.

Yep
Football savant. I remember getting AIDS before the ‘16 season thinking of Duke Riley starting and he turned him into a damn pro

I honestly think that of all the "newbie" HC's being mentioned, Napier is the one I think has the highest ceiling. The fact that a guy that coached with him at Bama compared his systematic approach and meticulous attention to detail compared him to Saban, is something I can't shake. That, for me, is the best thing i've heard about any of these candidates!

Tuckers defense is statistically worse than Daronte’s with a fraction of the attrition and an easier schedule

Napier would have an argument if he had ULL actually winning and being highly ranked. He's been there long enough and if he actually is this mythical-elite "program builder" then ULL would be built and dominating.
Spoiler alert: They're not.

It’s not a mythical concern. It’s definitely a concern.
It’s not a want to or anything like that for Aranda. So he definitely can overcome it. I go back to his recruiting of Rice, the LB from Georgia.
Rice committed to Aranda and LSU because Aranda was the only one not pressuring him — Rice’s words. Once Rice committed, Kirby and UGA turned up the heat and he flipped in a matter of hours.
Now, make of that what you will and what happened. But it happened.
Recruiting is Aranda’s red flag, while other coaches have their red flags.

Woodward is not hiring coaches that have losing conference records, and never made it to a bowl. This is his signature hire. Those stats do not remotely qualify.

Napier is Derek Dooley
