I dont know but I think he would be a good hire for a couple years then be a disaster. Go check out this years recruiting class at South Carolina. I know its not LSU, but he is old and will become lazy on the recruiting trail. JMO

No. Nobody has heard the rumor. You are absolutely the first, the man on the razor-sharp cutting edge of rumordom.

He also was going to be the coach at Miami and Alabama last year. Or didn't you hear those rumors?

That is more than a rumor. Communication between Spurrier and LSU likely started back during summer. He is the most likely candidate. I began posting this in September and was flamed repeatedly. But it is going to happen.

Yeah, I heard it was a done deal in January 2005...just a few hours before Miles was named head coach. I laughed in the face of the guy who said it then and I'm laughing now.

Spurrier would be a terrible hire...if 62 doesnt matter go look at this years recruiting class at South Carolina. I would hope we can do better....

I don't think Spurrier is going anywhere. he just enjoys having his name connected with every job

Young coaches bring in talent and have the drive to prove themselves.

Spurrier might be able to mooch 2 or 3 winning seasons off our talent, but long term I don't think he's good for the program.
