not always with 17 year olds.

Go look at Spurrier's last few recruiting classes at Florida (say 98-2000), they were not good. Meyer inherited more talent from Zook, than Zook did from SOS.

SOS might be a guy that could come in and win big, especially with the talent we have on offense the next couple of year, but I don't think he is the best for the long term future of the program

you can't fault spurrier that sc isn't deep in talent like louisiana, not to mention your competing with clemson for recruits. i think spurrier would do a great job

but i'm still hoping les stays

Yep names like Wuerfel and Grossman are going to have HS QBs lining up to play at LSU

If name was the determinate factor in recruiting Notre Dame wouldn't have had classes ranked in the 40's under Ty Wittingham.

Spurrier isn't the right hire for LSU.

Pres Lombardi has already said he will recommend Spurrier if the job opens- Look for us to have a chance with RP we have to have a QB coach that can teach him-- Spurrier fits the bill

Spurrier with young energetic assistants who will be the ones on the recruiting trail, the same young assistants that will fire up the team....

I'm all for it

Let him just be the hammer when we need him to be all the while grooming these young assistants into future head coaching candidates!

the only thing holding spurrier back is talent. we have it- turn this team over to a younger coach with less experience and you will have a melt down--it will take a skilled, experienced coach to handle this talent-- not to mention RP that is going to be a job within itself to harness is skill, attitude, focus and off field antics
