That is 11.2 million over 4 years. Sure you would hold out for something better. He could retire after 4 years if he failed. If he succeeds at New Miss. He will have huge job offers and move on. If he fails, he is loaded financially and can enjoy life.

Would be shockef if he took that job. Has UNC, Ill, Kansas, and A&M all above Ole Miss on his list. Not saying the So Miss fans are wrong today, but saying this would be a shock.

I see your point. I guess would wait to see what kind of counter-offer Southern Miss makes. $1.5 million at a top-tier non-AQ school with a highly likelihood of success is better than $2.5 million at a bottom-tier AQ school, IMO.

USM players have to buy their own pregame meals- no way they can afford to pay a coach 1.5
Hell, they pass the hat around during games to pay the electric bill for the lights
