I read somewhere we'll make a call to Harbaugh just to make him tell us no

Petrino still has strong support

Jeff Fisher and Jimbo Fisher are/were showing interest

It's not going to be Petrino IMO. The big-money people don't want him

Chizik isn't getting fired, remember? You said he'll be back.

Well there is still a good chance he will be back and he should get the opportunity to correct the mess that was made by certain power brokers demanding he change to pro-style offense to better compete with Bama. Au football was going back to the Days of Pat Dye and Tubbs. Smash mouth with a nasty Defense.

In a short 10 weeks, in Au fans minds, Chiz has gone from one of the best coaches with the best staff in the SEC to a bum with only BVG getting somewhat of a pass on the staff.

I really wanted to see from the SECR posters as to who they think, if fired, would be the Big Time Coach at Au. I've read all the delusional names being tossed around on ITAT. Talk about dreaming big. LOL

Au fans might want to temper their expectations on the possible replacement. It's going to be a tough sell to get an established coach to come to Au considering the circumstances of Chiz's firing.

Fire away flamers!

There is not a chance Chizik comes back. Assistants are making plans. This rumor started because JJ is considered safe, but that created a huge negative reaction among Auburn fans. The idea was floated to let Chizik clean house and bring in almost an entire new staff, that put JJ in hot water. There is a small group that support Chizik, but there have been convinced a change must be made

Jimbo Fisher is reportedly interested but wants control over the program. I'd have to imagine this is the best option and that he would possibly take over after FSU's bowl game.

Yep. Jeff is sort of a pipe dream at this point but word was that he called about the job. Jimbo sounds most likely to me, at this point. Malzahn is interested, too, but I don't like that option as much.

it's just hard to see either dude leaving for what can be considered at best as a lateral move, ya know?

I could see Jimbo making the move. He has already stated how much he likes Auburn, his wife is an Auburn grad, she lives in Birmingham, etc. It's also pretty well know that Jimbo isn't the happiest camper at FSU. Auburn will likely throw some serious bank at him if this actually happens, you'd have to put that in the equation, too.

You really think Chizik will be back man? It seems to me that my Bama brethren seem to forget that the Auburn people love their football just as much as we do. If We were having a season like AU's having do you really think Our coach would be retained? I respect you and your opinion, but i just think there's no way in hell Chizik will be back.

I call bullshite. Big money people don't really care about a squeeky clean image as long as it meant they're winning.
