Same here. I'd jump off the Mad Hatter bandawgaon and just cheer for the players, not the coach.

Even though i'm sure miles would like to retain him, LSU would not let this happen.

Heard he was still mulling it over? Any truth to that? Nothing official on him, but he was offered the job

Miles does not want to retain him. Miles realizes more than we do that he screwed up with Malaveto, and Mallory, Peveto, and Lane have been informed that they would not be retained. Time for all three to move on.

There is New Mexico State University and there is The University of New Mexico. They are not the same.

you must be an insider. Please tell us what you know. Are you one of the persons who bowed up to Coach Miles and told him he had to fire his friends? It's really great that important persons like yourself post on this board.

Just read the Las Cruces Sun News which is the NMSU paper. It lists the 2 leading candidates and mentions a third who is unannounced. Mallory has never been mentioned. NMU is in the city of Alburquerque, I am sure I did not spell that right. Anyway, our Pres. Martin was at NMSU. He may have some contacts for Mallory, but why would they keep it quiet. D. Walker was listed and they both may be waiting until the Bowl Game to announce. Or, the agents are just slugging away at a contract. NMSU operates on a shoestring. Recruiting is out of state and coaches must be in with the Texas and California high school coaches. Baton Rouge has sent some coaches and players there. The Oregon Mountains are beautiful, but Cruces is far from everthing, except the border. That is a problem for a coach!

If Walker gets the job, what does this do for Mallory getting the DC postion. Wouldn't Walker want his own DC?
