Miss St. is the only school not involved in the coaching carousel talks right now.

If Saban leaves Bama (doubtful in my mind), I guarantee they'd look at Croom very hard. In fact, they'd probably hire him.

What a mess that would be.

I think croom would be the best man for the bama job but I don't think the old guard at BAMA would hire a black coach as ashamed as I am to say that I think it is a true statement.

I agree with everything you said. I think Croom would be successful, and he would have been the right hire when Shula beat him out for the job, but the faact of the matter is, the Bama higher ups don't want to go through the PR nightmare of firing a black coach

I don't know WHY they wouldn't hire croom, but I'm glad they didn't and that they won't.

I'm also glad all of you down if Whoville are salivating over Saban. I'm getting ready to laugh my arse off when Michigan doesn't offer Miles the job and you're stuck with him. Even if he leaves, you have ZERO chance of getting saban back. Set your sights on someone more realistic. It will be better for your psyche in the long run.

You can't really laugh you are a 6-6 team. 2 Colleges, both Top 10 programs want Miles. He beat your coach in your Stadium. He's coaching LSU in the SECCG. A game the Bama faithful will be watching on TV in sportsbar in Tuscaloser, trying to convince each other how great Bama will be when when "Saban gets his own players". Some one will drop a few quarters in the in the jukebox, as Steely Dan circa 1978 starts to play.

Great, laugh your arse off when you have a coach who doesn't lose to UL(M) & wins more than 50% of his games. Miles is winning what about 86%?
