I wanted either Herman or Fisher like just about everyone else but we obviously didn't end up with that. Instead, we ended up hiring Orgeron and there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it. My question is to the people who are so convinced that he will fail. If he does succeed, what then? Will you continue to bash and berate the guy even if he turns the team into what you want it to be? Me personally, I'd rather just live with what happened and give him a chance because there isn't really anything else anyone can do about it. I'm not turning my back on a team I've supported my entire life just because they hired a coach who may or may not be able to turn this team into what everyone wants it to be. Everyone is so convinced that he will fail, but what if he doesn't? Will you eat crow or just bitch about it?

LSU just hired a coach who needs this thread.

Take a moment and consider that for a second.

As far as O doing well, it'll be a huge sigh of relief. Most of the fans here just want LSU to compete at the national level, which is where it should be.

Pfffft! Only yankee coaches do well at LSU. The North won the Civil War. Need to hire winners.

Well what's doing well? First of all he has to do better than Miles since that's who we fired for him. So 10 wins minimum every year is the expectation. We could've kept Miles for 9 wins a year.

If he does that and has this team in NC contention then everyone will give him his due credit.

But I already know what'll happen if he doesn't meet expectations. His followers will blame everyone else but him.

I'm COMPLETELY dissatisfied with the hire, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if he does well.

Meh, people had the same sentiments about Miles when he was hired. That was a very underwhelming hire at the time considering he was following Saban. That Monday night loss to Tenn sent the Miles haters over the top, and even with a Natty, after 2 losses, the nega-tigers remained

This fan base would have been split on any hire short of Saban, bottom line

There are always going to be fans especially on message boards who are going to bitch 24/7 unless the team has incredible success like Bama. They are the miserable assholes who think nothing is ever good enough and get off on being depressing bastards. Other than Jimbo every other coaching candidate has question marks and we could have dodged a bullet with Herman. It seems like every player who has played for O loves the guy like a father and if he can get a solid first couple of seasons LSU will be in a very good place.

No. There are a hard core of O haters that will bitch no matter what his success level might be. Every game LSU wins with him as the boss will be flawed and they will show up constantly to gripe. There is a toxic attitude of hate that won't go away.

I will eat crow and be damned happy about it. I will not be one of those Les bashers. I never wanted him either but the fans that bashed and wanted him to fail from day one was horrible.

I think Orgeron is a horrible hire. I pray I am wrong.
