I'll just ask this; when was the last time we got our #1 preference? As far as I can tell the rug has been pulled from under us every single time in recent memory.
It would appear that Riley is there for the taking though. Hope Woodward doesn't try to lowball him now that he won't be going to the playoffs.

Why would he troll LSU? He’s a professional. He might not take the job if offered but there’s no reason to show a lack of respect to an institution that is making a generous offer for you to come and work for them. That’s just stupid and bad business.

Even if Riley somehow came here he’d be a much bigger risk than many here and it. He’s never rebuilt a program or a culture. which is what we need right now, has failed to field a competent defense, and on top of that has been outschemed by our old DC repeatedly. How long before you think other coaches are able to synthesize Aranda’s approach? Do we know he’ll be able to adjust?
