I would have to reject the notion that there's such a thing as a pure charade in these types of dealings.

Balas said that Michigan didn't want Les, in his very strong opinion a few minutes ago.

Now this guy has struck out twice now (with predicting/guaranteeing Harbaugh and betting on Miles being UM coach), but in the beginning he said Miles had no chance. Only recently did he repair some broken bridges but not all, he has said in the past week over and over again.

So, your notion is that you and anyone reading a message board can somehow be privy to something that nobody writing a check on behalf of LSU is as well?

the UM people continue to claim hoke is, and has been, the choice

Of course they do. And if Hoke doesnt end up at UM then the story will be they never offered and they didnt want him. If they wanted Hoke instead of Miles then they wouldnt have wasted their time flying to br.

i'm not saying either is a better source of information

you ask 10 boosters about what happened in 2007 and you'll get 5-6 stories

the michigan reporters with sources claim no offer was made. i don't think BR/LSU media even asserted that. we just assumed it

Saying "no offer was made" and saying Michigan definitely didn't want him and (which necessarily means all these shenanigans over the past few days were nothing but an elaborate charade) are two different things, though.

This

If there was an actual offer made, then Miles will have burned his bridge IMO.

That is as long as MSC is President at Michigan.

I think your mod said after Jordy released his info that the official statement would not say that he rejected a Michigan offer. I didn't read the statement, but I agree with him sight unseen.
