So, how do you feel about Mallory as DC?.....

I heard that a recruit was told that he MIGHT be the next DC. Seems like one MAJOR letdown if we get Mallory and coaches like Tenuta are available. I'm assuming that Mallory's only experience is under Clay and Pelini. He just does not seem to have the experience to take over as DC of a major program.

a promotion from within would be pretty dissappointing to me. I know it's probably better for stability reasons, but I think we'd be stupid to miss out on an oppurtunity to get a proven DC. We have the resources and players to be appealing to any good DC, why waste the chance??

I'm am very concerned about a lack of experience with varied defensive schemes. I was less than impressed with Pelini and Bill Clay is supposed to be the second coming of Tepper. We need an EXPERIENCED DC who runs an agressive game plan and I just don't see Mallory being that person. This is one position that Miles need to NAIL because his background is on the offensive side of the ball!

I would think with the dead period coming that Miles would make his decision. It doesn't hurt GT if he names Tenuta or someone who has a bowl game to coach.

Last year Todd Monken was supposed to be promoted to OC. Considering the way Miles hires his coordinators i just don't see it happening.

I wouldn't be happy about mallory at all though. LSU isn't the place to break in new DCs
