Skip and Les...

On UM's Rivals site, they report a meeting could likely take place on Monday or Tuesday between Martin and his crew and Les. They talk about LSU offering a generous raise and that Miles will take less cash for the UM job, if he takes it and from what I gather, it's more than what Carr made and his money for assistants will likely be increased but a press conference won't be made until late next week at the earliest and that it could even take longer than that.
They think Mallory would come but they say people at LSU like Porter and will try to keep Porter on the next staff but he'd likely keep some UM assistants already on staff.
Lastly, they say that there are still folks pulling against Big Les, especially some powerful ex-Regent member and it'll be a fight to the end.

i think its a lock mallory follows miles
and i hope we do everything possible to keep porter...you can bash his RB rotation, but you cant bash the production and he's one of the very best recruiters in the country

I believe it will be a very difficult decision for Miles because the MI offer will be much lower than LSU's offer for him to stay. I think he loves both places, but the love of home is strong, but maybe not a million per year(diff) strong.

Losing Larry Porter would be a huge loss, but the big fish we need to make sure doesn't leave is Tommy Moffitt.

I'm just glad (from what I've heard) that we are at least a bit ahead of the game this time around.

but i dont think moffit will ever leave LSU by his own choice...until he retires of course

Skip ain't dropping the buyout. I thought he might before I read this. Skip is going to try to buy Miles.
I was hoping he would vacate the buy out and tell Miles "best wishes" in hopes Michigan would smell blood in the water and back off.
Looks like Skip is cranking up the check book and will make Les and "Offer he can't refuse" but Les will.

Tommy Moffitt has his own deal with the administration to stay here as long as he wants. He was fortunate enough to design that facility the way he wanted it and that important. His wife is from New Orleans and his boys are very involved in local sports.Just to show his loyalty he turned down Butch Davis @Cleveland and Saban@ Miami for way more money. That my boys is loyalty and could use a few more just like him

My thoughts exactly. It would be foolish to offer him more than Michigan.
Besides, if we lose the SEC Championship, what then? How ignorant would it look to give a coach a raise coming off the first losing streak for the team in 5 years?

Right hand man. I couldn't see Les and Porter splitting up unless Larry was given a promotion and raise, which I'm sure Miles would get for him anyway. Then again, isn't he assistant HC and RB coach? Would OC be a promotion over assistant HC?
