Not sure where you're getting that from.

I know Crowton is bad...but BG came in all hyped, and it turned out he couldn't even coach the receivers properly. I fail to see how he'd fare any better w/ the WHOLE offense at his disposal.

No..Miles will go out and find a OC who likes the I-Formation, with the power run. He'll get back to the basics.

I would rather this than the spread. I believe that if Crowton goes, BG will get the job though. Not saying I support it, but I just think that's how we got BG in the first place.

but he never was OC, he always dealt with WRs.

Mullen and Meyer ran the read option shite, and we dont run it here.

shite put RS back there and let BG call read option, i dont care, i just want CHANGE.

I do not believe this at all. If it happens, it will cost Miles his job in short order, IMHO.

This OC hire is very important, hence Alleva's public announcement that it is all on Miles and he is having no input. Miles will sink or swim on htis.

the promotion from within didn't work out so well before, but this is different. I don't think that BG would've taken the job unless he felt like he would be Crowton's successor. A BG promotion would create hysterics based soley upon what happened when Bo left. BG may turn out to be a great hire. Still, I prefer more of a power attack on offense.

BG left UF because he really thought he would get the OC job when mullen left and he didn't.

So he felt shafted and went somewhere he knew he wouldnt be passed on when his time came. (also a team who plays UF every year for eventual payback)

If Crowton is gone, book Gonzales as the new OC, and he will get his shot.

Sick feeling? I'm confused.

you do know that a fricking monkey pulling plays out of a hat would do better than GC, right?

There was very likely a reason he was passed over. Urban Meyer's no dummy.

I wish I could find all the threads from earlier this year where EVERYONE was saying that they wanted Gonzo to be the OC and that he was the offensive Coordinator in waiting.

"Mettenberger does not fit Gonzales style of read option offense. Remember this guy help run Urban and Mullen's offense for 10 years. I believe Les wants a power I Pro style attach. I would be surprised if Gonzales is the OC."

THIS IS FACT if we get Mett it will be pro-style all the way.

I heard the same thing today.

fml

ETA: you dont promote from within a shitty arse offense. the whole staff should be held responsible for being ranked 100 in offense or whatever the final numbers are....gimme a break man

DEG how do you know Gonzales will do any better? What experience does he have? I agree he can't do worse but he can do equally bad which would be disaster. Why can't LSU find a Chavis version of an coordinator on the offensive side of the ball? Even a solid OC would be nice.

Wow how the feelings for "Gonzo" have changed. He was labeled the Savior just a few months ago by so MANY rantards....

I dont have anything against BG to be honest, but due to the dismal/embarassing performance of this offense I think an outside hire is needed

Miles can recruit, he needs a $1M/yr type guy to run the offense and help this team win games

BG needs to earn his keep and bring in some kids from Florida. I can't imagine BG staying around if he witnessed Crowton getting castrated all season. Also, the Florida spread ain't so hot when you have drop back passing QBs. Another reason why I think Miles has to go outside the staff and will.

This!!!

There were even some geniuses on here who claimed that Gonzalez was going to be the defacto OC this year, with Crowton being retained as a figurehead. Only on the Rant!
