Should Alleva be to blame?

If both Crowton and Studrawa are kept for the 2010 season with the pathetic showing on OL and offense.......and all the facts presented to Miles with it including being dominated in the amount of plays ran per game, inconsistent rushing game, 106th ranked offense, etc; I blame Alleva for not pressuring Miles to make shite happen.
You can't defend this decision and it seems Miles is willing to "roll the dice" and his career at LSU on some pretty unproductive guys in their tenures.

How do you know he isn't putting pressure on him and Miles (just like his BFF Dinardo) has decided to stick with his buddies and go down with the ship?

I mean Alleva is the Athletic Director........he can give orders right? I understand your point but Miles isn't freaking completely autonomous in staff decisions.........if Alleva says he has to go.......doesn't he have to go?

It is not necessarily a good thing when the AD starts interjecting himself in the coaching hires. See: Tubby's Auburn.
That never ends well. The HC ends up being miffed, the new coach never meshes well...its just a recipe for disaster. You have to let the HC assemble his own staff.

I agree wholeheartedly.......accept if this comes to fruitition and Crowton and Stud stay, Miles's critiques will have further ammunition against him........In other words, his plan better work or he is in trouble.

I absolutely agree. He is running out of time. He made good hires last year. If he makes good hires again this year he is set. If he fails in that, he might be going down with the ship.

YOU can't defend it, but if coach miles keeps them, he CAN defend it. being completely open with you, les miles knows a hell of a lot more than you (or me) about football and about the abilities of the coaches in question. i know what it looked like on the field this year, but you cannot overlook (if you are objective) the OL and the QB problems as not being a result of bad coaching. miles has the game films and the practice observations to make his decisions. there is no question that our O failed in a lot of ways....there IS a question as to why. if miles is willing to bet his career on his determination, he must feel like he's right. i trust miles to do the right thing for the program. if i was a head coach, the last thing i would do is let the fans make my decisions. we, as a whole, are not qualified in ANY WAY to determine who the asst coaches are, what plays are run and what personnel is used. you also called crowton and studrawa unproductive. they sure seemed productive to me when our OL and QB personnel were different. ever consider that some of our players ain't what they were billed to be out of HS?

There is no way that waterhead knows more than me. Even I know not to ask a state trooper if there was timeout. Or that the FG team was "down under". Were they in Brisbane or Perth, maybe Sydney?
