Does anyone know what Shoops salary at PSU is?

It's somewhere between $400-$500K per year according to folks up in Happy Vally. Friend of mine from that area told me that "Penn State will never pay a coordinator over a million a year."

Take it for what it's worth.

Then we should definitely be able to get him if we want him. Can double his paycheck.

We could if the Penn State folks don't decide to go all-in to keep him.

in his first season, Shoop actually gave up less yards per game than saban did this year (322.8ypg vs 328.4ypg), and that was 2011, when the SEC was fricking stacked.

and in his second season, he had an almost identical ppg as saban did this year (18.7 vs 18.4) and this was sabans 8th year, with a defense that started 4 five stars and 7 four stars, including 8 who were overall top 50 prospects, with 5 juniors and 3 seniors, in a down year for the SEC.

DE Jonathon Allen (SO) 5 star, number 16
NT A'Shawn Robinson (SO) 5 star, number 33
DE Jarran Reed (JR) 4 star, number 13
SLB Denzel Devall (JR) 4 star, number 139
MLB Trey DePriest (SR) 5 star, number 29
WLB Reggie Ragland (SO) 4 star, number 41
JAK Xzavier Dickson (SR) 4 star, number 34
CB Geno Smith (JR) 4 star, number 61
SS Landon Collins (JR) 5 star, number 7
FS Nick Perry (SR) 4 star, number 245
CB Cyrus Jones (JR) 4 star, number 43

Penn St isn't gonna leverage a Million bucks bro. 1.3-1.5 at LSU we pay less than what Cheif wanted, he makes triple. I don't see the problem

How dare this clown use LSU for a raise. Penn State should let him walk.

Aggressive, aggressive, aggressive.

Listing the word three times was probably overkill, but it should be a good primer for Vanderbilt fans, who can expect to see the adjective used often this fall in reference to the team's defense.

And that is exactly what Defensive Coordinator Bob Shoop wants to hear.

"I certainly don't believe in bend but don't break," Shoop said. "I believe in trying to dictate tempo. I think we will be a very aggressive defense."

Shoop's coaching style has been evident in preseason camp with the increase in blitz packages dialed up in 11-on-11 drills.

Ohhhhh it's like music to my ears Les, go get him

Q: How would you describe your defensive style? A: We want to be an in-your-face defense that is fun to play. We are built around relentless pursuit and never-ending pressure. Each defense takes on an identity of its own. We are a big zone-blitz team; we have evolved into some man-free and quarter-concepts, things like that. I always talk about three things: A, we are committed to stopping the run; B, we don’t want to allow big plays. C, and we want takeaways. If we do those things, we will be successful. -

Damn right Bob

Why was Chavis not able to have LSU's defense ranked in the top 5 every year?

Idk if its been brought up already but Shoop was Penn St's DC and Safeties coach so if he would come aboard would he:

bring some of his own staff?
Reymond gets moved out which would suck but we could Brick to LB coach and Bebe to DL coach?

Interesting that Shoop has only coached DB's...
I just wonder as others have mentioned, that any new DC may want one or more of his choices to join him- are additional changes forthcoming? That being said, all the coaches have already signed contracts; how does that affect the signing of a new DC??
