On the bright side it doesn't matter how much you're down at the end of a game or how many yards to go on third down.... We always will have a chance

Nothing sticks out on Shoop. I've been knowing about him since 2007 and nothing is remarkable about the guy. Again, his brother would help LSU more
Let me get this straight...
PSU's defense ranked #2 nationally, but Shoop is overrated.
His brother's offense ranked #108 nationally in the same conference, but he would help LSU more. Just double-checking.

Didn't Vanderbilt have an LSU type schedule? Bayoufightingtiger

Shoop would be an excellent hire. I don't see how anyone could argue any differently.
This.
This.

I like him. If hired, I hope he's a winner for us.

Tell me in what way he is not a home run hire?
He's an A&M fan, an upgrade at LSU would ruin their offseason.

If he is hired and the defense don't live up to his numbers at Vandy the meltdown will begin. No one on this board ever mentioned him being a homerun hire the day Chavis left. Too many proven DCs out there to consider Shoop. I guess his 7-23 record as a head coach means nothing to yall. So experts on here I guess let his one year determine his career success. People on here get excited about anything. We need a guy who is a proven recruiter in the South. Coach O would run circles around him and a much more impressive resume.

Does anyone know what Shoops salary at PSU is?

It's undisclosed, I think.

According to advocate its undisclosed
Posted on 1/6/15 at 7:26 pm to Bayoufightingtiger
So what if you get both?

Is that what we're hiring him for?

Speaking for myself, the reason I didn't get excited about Shoop right off the bat is because it was being reported that he wasn't in consideration.
Shoop easily has the best resume and I hope he gets the job.
Steele, Haley and Stoops had me scared.
