Well the PSU message boards have no faith in him staying there. They want Tom Bradley back if Shoop leaves. They believe PSU will offer max $900k and Shoop will bolt to LSU for more money. The only thing that may keep him at PSU is his loyalty to Franklin but the PSU fans really think he is gone.

I thought PSU had deeper pockets than that.

They feel LSU will not pay Shoop the same pay Chavis received here but will pay Shoop a little more than 1 million. $900K is on the very high end for what PSU would be willing to paying.

They do. They just have tendencies in line with a certain historical race of people.

Well let's get this shite done one way or another. I'm sick of hearing about it, it's time to focus on national signing day.

I'm sure it's a principle thing rather than a money thing. Not saying it's the right way to think in today's environment, but I'm sure they could pay more if they wanted to. Just like LSU could have paid more to Chavis.

Don't think he leaves his "dream job" over a 100k difference. LSU better sweeten the pot if they want to snag him.

LSU will give him 1.3 to 1.5 range. Penn will not be able to match that.

Their fan base is in awe that LSU pays their top assistants that much money. Some feel programs like LSU willing to spend that much money is causing them much heartache by their coaches leaving for more money. Money talks and people walk.

it's not just about how much money they have. there is a general "scale" for asst coaches and throwing a huge raise at one guy could seriously throw this out of balance. so they have to consider that their OC might get pissed if he's making a huge amount less than the DC and they'll have to bump him up also.

back to the money PSU has. they have never shown the inclination to get into a huge "arms race" with coaches and facilities. they place a premium on their academics and probably, imo, want to keep what they consider a balance between sports and academics.

good for them. being honest, most of us put way too mkuch emphasis on college football.

I think whatever money they have goes to all of these additional sports that other colleges don't have.

This. LSU would not be the school it is without football and baseball. Mostly football. At least the recognition aspect.

The money some of these schools raise through research channels and via their endowments make CFB funds look like a lemonade stand's.
