THANK YOU. someone see's the real issue.

If O ever needs something in la., l.s.u. and the state needs to say don't let the door hit you.

our administration tried to get a good d line coach, give him the opportunity to coach in the state he wanted to live in, with the salary he wanted.

like all sexton clients, enough is never enough. Like all sexton clients, they will always be looking for employment somewhere else. either fired or who will pay a dollar more. the will always play two teams against each other for more money. At the end of the day, tenn won the battle but we may have won the war.

l.s.u. will be better off at the end of the day not doing buisness with these guys. we have good talent, good recruiting base, a good d.c., and we'll find a good d.l. coach that will get the job done.

we will be ok, and more likely than not better off for it.

I was for the hire because i felt he was a good d line coach. however, we tried to treat the man and his agent as a professional and with respect. more than he and his agent deserve.

miles went out, kicked arse with a purpose to let everyone know. l.s.u. is not and will not be dead.

it's on to finishing out with our class, one of the top's in the country, if not the top.

we get a quality d.l. coach like a brick haley, O is a mute point. He hasn't stole a recruit out of la. to date and with the right d. line hire, he wont.

the hat had a purpose tonight, the s.e.c. better take notice. he's fired up, his motivated, and we have a qb. we aren't going anywhere, we don't have to build anything. we are a player next year, and for three to five more years. O can only hope he will be.

good luck to O and sexton. he's already gotten two client's fired, tubberville and nutt, will be interesting to see how much commission he's receiving in a few more years.

l.s.u. did the right thing in moving away from sexton four year ago. there are a lot of good teams w/o sexton clients. he doesn't have all the good ones. we continue to have success, he may just be struggling to find a team in the s.e.c. wanting his talent pool.

his game is old, his game is worn out, everone can see his game and recognize it. we don't have to play it.

If you jackasses would take your almighty coaches off the pedestal on which you've placed them for just a few seconds and consider the relationship that exists between a coach and his agent, then you will see the ignorance I see in the first few posts in this thread.

The agent acts on the COACH'S behalf, not the other way around. Jimmy Sexton acts under the blessing of his clients. If you don't believe this to be the case, please enlighten me as to one specific situation in which you believe the agent called the shots without his client's consent. Please, do this for me.

It is quite simple. Jimmy Sexton acts on his CLIENT'S behalf. Those who employ his services do so for a reason. I know, I know, this is hard to swallow.

Please, quit with all the whining as if Sexton has these coaches held hostage. If you truly believe this to be the case, I hope you haven't procreated and would advise you to seek assistance with your complete effing ignorance.

If your a D-line coach looking to move up. Where do you go?
1. Learn under Chavis, who, at 56 still has quite a few yrs left in him.
2. Learn under Monte Kiffin, who, at 69 only has a few yrs left, but is regarded as one of, if not the best d mind in football. You also get more money while you learn.
Pretty easy choice if you as me.

Stay home where everybody will love me forever (if it turns out well) or move to Knoxville, where nobody can understand me, I can't get good etouffe or gumbo, working for a head coach young enough to be my son (almost), and having to look at that G-dawful "Road Crew" Orange everywhere, and have a band that only knows one song (though we may have to get off the Tennessee band's back if all we can offer is the "Golden 'Neck' Band from Tigerland"), and an annoying one at that.

Given more responsibility, given more money, and probaably a pretty good chance to be DC in a few years when the old man retires.

I see it as an easy choice too.

Most of the smartest people that graduate from high school in La do everything they can to get out of the state.

See how easy life is if you have clear cut goals and priorities?

If the call of another location or more money, or adventure, or whatever drives you, is powerful, the choice is easy. If the bond to hearth, home and family is strong, the choice is easy.

That's the great thing about America - the possibilities combined with the freedom to choose.

i did say sexton has an agreement with his client. they have to be in it to play the game.

Not all coaches have jimmy sexton. a lot of coaches and their agents make a lot of money, coach very good teams, have great career's without sexton's tactics.

There is a reason Ogeron, Saban, tubberville, nutt, ect all have an element of the public that think they are slime. They may not be, however, the way they and their agent have handled their business has given them this reputation.

p.s. ogeron just burnt the bridge he didn't want to burn.

No doubt he is good at his job. However, the monopolistic like control he has over the SEC Coaching Carousel is somewhat troubling.

There is no doubt in my mind that if LM struggles next year (I don't believe they will) that Sexton is already laying the ground work for TT to take the reigns.

I am interning at Sextons agency next summer, I'll tell him your opinion of him.
