The way Miles got fired was strange. It was like they really had counted on Jimbo and it feel through. So they basically fired a champion coach with no replacement.

Now they fired an OC after one season. They paid more for a DC that most HC’s make. On top of that they hired an OC who didn’t even want to be your OC and had never been not really been OC.

But the biggest question I have is why they gave Ed a huge buyout? Did they do that in an attempt to double down on the image that he was a good hire?

Let’s say Ed turned out to be a success. What other program in the country would be rather lead? This is his dream job. Worst case scenario he gets and offer from some ACC or PAC 10 school. Do you not think he would give LSU the chance to match the offer?

So basically how does Alleva still have a job?

USC an Ole Miss were also his “dream jobs”

I think they went to Jimbo's contract and hit CTRL+F "Jimbo Fisher" and changed it to "Ed Orgeron" and then CTRL+P

Ed Orgeron would sell us out in a second. I remember when he politicked hard for the Syracuse HC position when he was still our DL coach after just one year back in football. Most coaches totally play off stuff like that and take a "ho hum, just here to help the team" approach until the ink is signed on their next job. Not Eddy O. He was up front that he was gonna ditch our arse if something better came calling, which of course, it didn't.

He still would have had to get in contention for other jobs. Auburn handle Gus in the season he got hot with Arkansas coming hard. LSU could have done that with Ed.

yes. they didn't think they'd ever have to pay it until the troy game. no one even really knew what it was until that disaster happened.

you are wasting brain power just thinking about this.

athletic department brings in money and has stayed scandal free. if football hits the crapper next year (very possible with the schedule) he will start feeling heat.

1.) Graduation rates
2.) revenue

not necessarily in that order

Unfortunately, non-revenue measurements of football success doesn't really factor into decisions at F. King and the BoS's decision making.

Which just shows how inefficient they are. CTRL+H would have done the find and replace automatically.

Yep. Ed is an LSU lifer. Despite never playing for LSU, never holding a job at LSU until his 50s, and previously declaring Ole Miss and USC as his dream jobs, he’s an LSU man through and through.

I want to know if the BOS are dictating who Coach O can hire.

Because donors still donate, season tickets still sell out, merchandise is still purchased by fans everyday, NFLSU still attracts enough talent to win most games...

My concern is that it will have to get considerably worse before it gets better.
