Right. That's what I was saying. I think, possibly, a lower level school would hire him but we don't really know which one of those are opening up yet.

There are several already open. May go back to Central Michigan

Lyle's next coaching gig.

I understand that’s what it’s supoosed to mean, but how the frick do they expect to find that November 2nd?

It's been done numerous times before.

Landing spot may not necessarily suggest a HC gig either.

So, is that article supposed to be saying that UT is waiting for Butch's agent to find him another job before announcing he is leaving? Never heard that before, and while I'm not sure it matters, doesn't seem to be something that benefits the school at all.

Absolutely not, but Butch may already know the die is cast against him and he and his agent are being pro-active. It could also simply be a back-up plan should a firing come.

The mitigation clause of CBJ's buyout requires him to seek work AND gives UT offsetting money based on his next job. IOW, CBJ gets a job we don't pay as much.

That seems to be the norm when it comes to these buyouts. That’s why LSU fans mention Les for every opening. The problem with Les is he was close to retirement, but he seems to only want a big time P5 job, and the P5 programs with openings aren’t looking for a 65 year old that was fired from his last job for abysmal offenses.
