Saban WOULD NOT Be Blasted By Media If He Returned

The only ones who would blast Saban are Bama fans. The national media would give him a pass because a return to LSU would seem natural to them. It would be a way for him to begin to atone for his past sins. I really think that what is so distasteful to much of the national media (ESPN and other East Coast media) is the fact that he went to Alabama. He could have gone somewhere else and they would have forgiven it. Look at what Dennis Erickson did last year. But, the national media despises Bama because they think that their fan base and boosters stands for everything that is wrong and corrupt with college athletics.
But, that said, I don't think for a minute that he'll be the next coach at LSU. It is just too wild a scenario.

Actually now reading all of this crap on here, it would make sense for him to come back. I can see him doing something like that.

his season ended so badly he'd just be accused of creating a mess and then running away again.
the only reason I'd want him back would be to see the look on Bama fans faces....we could then fire him the next day

bilj, are any of these saban rumors true? all you hear about these days are rumors from some jackass who thinks he has an inside source (see apextiger)

I thought he signed a 7-year contract with Bama, didn't he?
Wouldn't the buyout on such a deal be astronomical?

I find myself feeling pumped by this possibility. This is scary.

That is because you are reading this in the echo chamber of internet football board. Clive Clusser novels make sense too but in the end they are fiction.
If you stayed here long enough and got enought posters promoting it you would believe that the Coach of the New England Patriots was about to come down here and Coach

depends on who you ask ron. there are some who still go to the church of saban and would do anything to get him back, but I don't see it happening unless option A fizzles

Hey, easy now...I am just caught up in the juicy info that was posted and then whacked because it was copied from a paid site...
It seemed like it could be very true...I put a tease in there for fun,,,maybe more of a personal hope
I don't know Jack! We all know nothing or very little, other than other boards activity and people posting things here from so called boasters and or friend of agents or asst, coaching fraternity..
But the Rant does seem to filter out garbage and get news pretty fast...so hold on tight...the next few days are going to be fun

Saban isn't going anywhere. If he tried the national media would just kill him. He's busy recruiting for Bama and I can't wait to see who he signs in Feb.

This is already fun! Unless everyone turns us down and we end up with a total dud, this is exactly what we needed to take our mind off of losing out on the NC.
Now, if we could just win on Saturday . . . .

I don't want him! I think it would be a step backward. The guy couldn't even beat ULM and his record since he left LSU is 21-23 with late season swoons with the Dolphins (when he knew he was going to Bama) and this year with Bama (when he knew he was going to . . . wait a minute!) Anyway, I don't want him back.
I'd rather have a proven winner!

Saban and LSU lost to UAB in his first year, then went on to win a couple of SEC titles and a NC. Yeah, I like our chances in the next season or two.
