Exactly. He challenged his boss in front of others. Not a good idea anywhere.

Well yea, Chip coached in college for 4 years. However, he never won less than 10 games in a season.

Chip has 3 in 4 years of coaching. Les has 2 in 13 years as a HC

You know, nothing beats:

1. An unlinked rumor thread.

2. A bunch of idiots who take it seriously

3. Trolls who take advantage of the asininity of #2.

Troll, ok. These guys think Les is a better coach than Chip, which simply isn't a case. Chip had several NFL teams fighting for his services. If Les ever gets a sniff in the NFL, we can revisit this thread

the NFL doesn't determine how good of a college coach you are.

I think Les is a very good college coach due to the fact that recruiting is a huge part of the game. I have watched games though where Les's decision making and clock management is questionable at best. That said, he is a successful coach with a MNC and you can't take that away

Ok, I've hardly been what you'd call Les's staunchest defender over the years.

But let's be fair. The bulk of that 13 years (and both titles) have been in the SEC. Let's not pretend SEC titles are all that easy to come by.

Oh I agree with you 100%. I was just correcting the guy that said Les had more conference titles than Chip

If Les is going anywhere, it will be back to the small moon of a gas giant in a star cluster several million light years away.

Most of the tv talking heads are saying the same thing, that JJ won't fire the HC this yr, getting a pass as he is playing for the division championship despite a crappy record.

Yeah right. If CLM stepped down from LSU (will not happen any time soon), he'd have 10 offers in front of him within 24 hours.

Not only is Chip a better coach, he has probably forgotten more about football than Les even knows. Chip consulted Bill Belichick about the intricacies of his offense. You think Bill would ever take Les's advice on anything

And Saban just consulted with Lane Kiffen about his offense.

Just sayin.
