Rock, our fanbase wouldnt forgive him if that is the case. If people knew he could have ended this shite last Monday and didnt, its too far gone.

I guess you missed the part where he said he wanted to "Hear Michigan out".
If Miles stays he's done. The fan base will be screaming bloody murder that Miles's vacillation lost us a shot at the MNC. Empty seats will follow.

Winning then staying will have no bearing in the perception...the detractors will only think that this drawn out process attributed to our bad play against Arky. There may be substance to that.

Maybe so but I'm not sure how much that will matter/affect the results in the win-loss column.
He'll always have detractors...he's had them since he's been here.

You over-estimate people's actual "affection" for Miles. He has compromised this season. People have long memories.

I really dont see it Rocket. I only attended U-M Flint campus, and I am a lifelong fan(39 yrs old).
It is in our blood.

Why would you not forgive him? Don't you realize that it is good business for him to drag this out. Even if he has always known he was going to stay at LSU by waiting he is going to end up with a nice pay raise which equals business done right. We as fans forget sometimes that this is his career and not just a passion. If he stays we need to be thrilled that we have a great coach that a traditional power wanted badly and he turned them down for our great University.

Anyone who holds a grudge against that is a fricking fool.
He's handled it the best way he could, outside of denying the job...but get this..had he come out and stated he didn't want the job, people would probably hound him until UM hired a coach and the whole thing would take own a life of it's own.

But aside from the business aspect from it, Miles' ultimate duty is to the players. This crap hasnt been a heavy burden on them. I think it is unfair...ESPECIALLY if this was a leverage ploy in the middle of a NC run. There are other ways of going about it then possibly alienating more of the fanbase.

Riiiiigghhhht. Even though by squashing it, the team is less distracted, probably beats ark, wins the SECCG, and the National Title. In turn he is given a pay raise equal to or greater then the top 3 highest paid coaches in the country.
Dragging it out, is such a better play.

I agree ! This should have been over before the Arkansas game. If Miles had decided he was leaving for Michigan when Carr resigned, Crowton could have taken over and led this team. I hope for Miles's sake he stays, I would not want to believe he has hung around to see if he could win a NC, amidst the distractions, and still go to UM.
