Rivalry with Ole Miss

Haven’t really heard anything about the implications of leaving your job for your biggest rival. I guess it just shows people don’t realize Ole Miss’ biggest rival is LSU and not state.

Worse. We at least had a couple buffer years that we could reconcile Saban’s need to coach in the NFL vs. directly jumping to a rival a few hundred miles away.

It’s worse. Saban didn’t leave LSU in the middle of the best season in our history with a legitimate shot at a title to go to Alabama. He actually won us 2 SEC championships and a national title before he made the logical jump to the NFL.

when Tubs left Oxford in his pine box for AU, it triggered a rivalry between the two programs that didnt really exist before
hell, SEC Shorts made a “pine box” gag in their last video - and its been 25+ years
now imagine it ramped up to today, with the money/hype involved, only between two schools with a lengthy prior history
