LSU can not afford to make a “up and coming” hire.

I’ll take someone like Riley mayyyybe kiffin, who you know will win games and put out a good product.

If we blow this hire…LSU could spiral. We think we’re invincible but so did Texas and look at them.
That being said if the big hire doesn’t work…then you take a chance on and up and comer.

I know I’m beating a dead horse but I’m no longer interested in Aranda or Mel Tucker if I’m Woodward

Aranda has been my #1. But we saw that our defense is good/better saturday.

LSU NEEDS OFFENSE. And we have for the past 20 years minus 2019.

It’s time for an offensive juggernaut to take advantage of this talent before it’s gone

Yea because there is zero risk in hiring Riley, and y’all are guaranteeing that he wins a national championship.

The difference between us and Texas is that they had underachieved for 40 years (besides 2005) and then got upset when Herman continued to underachieve.

nah. might have a rough patch but the football facilities and overall football brand will keep it from getting too bad.

You're ready to hire Riley whom Aranda's defenses have defeated 3 times in a row? Made him cry on national TV about "sportsmanship" when he has been running up the score on opponents since his days as an OC. Yeah, Aranda is the risk.

Riley doesn’t guarantee the national championship. But he guarantees 9-10 win seasons

That guy can barely manage a 9-10 win season in the Big 12. I think you need to take a hard look and ask can he honestly do that in the SEC?

I like to think that’s the case but I can’t help but wonder how he will fare against the toughest division in the toughest conference in the country. I just hope we’re not giving Riley too much credit

Kiffins proving himself in the West as we speak. I’d hate to see him at Florida

I like Aranda but Aranda hasn’t defeated OU 3 times in a row. He lost last year and brought his record to 2-6 at the time.

Riley is a long shot.

But if you can get him to LSU, it is a home run hire.

It’s a lot easier to hire and keep a great Defensive Coordinator - leading many to believe an offensive specialist is the smart strategy for head coach.

Is Riley a product of his Heilman qbs or did they make him look better than he is.

I’ve heard he’s really great with qbs and benching Rattler shows he’s not afraid to make changes

You will take who SW hires and be happy with him

You have no credentials today what the hire should be so keep your ignorant thoughts to your self and if you want the Whitney arse Riley start cheering for Oklahoma

And I thought the whole purpose of this board was to share our thoughts on coaching changes. I stand corrected.

has never built a program, only maintained.
You want to maintain what LSU is now?
Jimbo is the same.

Use 10-15 million and try to "steal" a coach that has built
or
spend 6-8 million on an "up and comer" and hope your evaluation is spot on

Kiffin is a wreck.
