I remember years and years and more years of pain with Jerry Stovall, Mike Archer and Curley Hallman. I’m disgusted and heart broken that those years seem to be back now.

It's not going to be that bad. O won't survive two more seasons if he can't fix the offense. So long as we can keep decent recruiting (top 15 classes) we will be OK. We just need to make sure O is fired quickly, which means donors and season ticket holders need to make their presence felt asap.

I recall
quote:

Archer/ Hallman era

and
quote:

Stovall

but there were 5 winning seasons between Stoval and Archers decline. 3 winning seasons of Arnsparger and the first 2 of Archer.

This is the third time in my lifetime (possibly the 4th, as Charlie Mac depending on when they promoted Mac, I was born in January of 62) we promoted from within.Archer was selected on the recommendation of the previous head coach over another candidate who went on to be a thorn in LSU's side. Stoval was an afterthought hire when the coach we had hired died in an unfortunate accident.

Both had good first years, Stoval was up and down in his 4 years, Archer started off like gangbusters but had the slow decline.

Time will tell us how Orgeron is judged. While I am not really optimistic, I hope he proves me totally wrong.

One of these is not like the other.....and don't conveniently disregard the Arnsparger era between Stovall and Archer. The 80's weren't significantly worse than the 60's and 70's and were actually a better decade than the 50's. And we aren't even close to being back to some of those down years in the 80's ('81, 83 and '89).

The '92 season was glorious in Tiger Stadium, are we bringing back the great fans too?
