If Riley was the guy and we struck out, then we fired our coach mid-season for nothing and are actually behind other schools in the process now.
If Riley was not the guy, we will know because the Monday press conference should still go forward.

Why would they be "behind" other schools? Are you saying they can't pursue multiple candidates at one time?

We’re going to go in to early signing day with a brand new coach that will probably only have a few days to recruit. Scotty is just another Alleva but spends a shite ton more money

This is 100 percent the reason why people are irritated this morning.
Everyone is so desperate for information, of course it was the people were going to run wild with “sources.”
But let’s acknowledge one thing: a message board and its posters were never going to impact this search one way or the other, and they still won’t.

My concern is that we have turned off potential coaches slow walking them waiting on Riley’s decision.

Agree he had to go, it is just the timing and impact on recruiting over the last several weeks.

We are not behind. LSU just got huge raises for Tucker and Franklin. I don't think either were the big targets. Especially Franklin. I don't think he was ever a target for LSU.
LSU, USC, UF are looking. We are not behind them in our search. You act like the Riley decision just came down last night. This decision was likely made 2 weeks ago when all the smoke and talk was hot. So it is likely LSU got Riley a pay raise.
I don't think LSU is behind the 8 ball now. I think it is likely already done or very close to being done.
