You're shaking a stick at #24 and #39?
Imagine what we would have done this past season with an offense ranked that high.

So youre complaining that we hired a guy who his offenses at a place like Tulsa ranked higher than LSU's offenses?

If we ranked 39 this year Crowton does not get fired. Go back and look at the difference between total yardage of 10, 20, and 30. It's not very much.

It's the name of my favorite rifle, an old 1896 Model 30-40 Krag. I like the association. It's a good omen.

not a WOW, but acceptable, be interesting to see what difference it makes. With the talent here, one who think anyone with any experience could have a top 50 offense.

All the critics on this board need to STFU and wait and see what this dude can do now that he has a fully loaded toolbox.
if by midseason our offense is still ranked in the bottom quarter of FBS, THEN he's fair game for all the negatigers.
My guess is we should see a conservative offense to start the season, followed by a gradual opening-up as the new offense is learned and confidence is built.
We'll know if Krags was a good hire if we see steady improvement throught the season. Thats what we should expect in a first year as OC.
Ill reserve judgement until then.

If you didn't then stop posting crap you know nothing about. Believe it or not head coaches who fail can have success again as coordinators or even as a head coach some place else..... I know it is a shocking revelation to some on this board it would seem.
Yep. There's a reason that the NFL keeps recycling the same old coaches. First, there's a reason coaches got hired to big positions in the past. Second, if coaches are like everyone else, they learn more from thier failures than their successes.

Exactly we would have killed for a 39th ranked offense. The stats between rankings from 20 to 50 or so close there is really no use arguing about them, when you factor in what types of defenses you play against week in and week out.

Good points. Cautious optimism...

I'm mixed on it, but we'll see. Is krags being hired strictly to coach the qbs and call plays or will he be permitted to implement some of his own terminology? Is his wife 100% healthy?
I'm happy with this for now. Kragthorpe has never had the kind of talent he will here. His offense is definitely going to blend with Miles more, which will cut down on all the confusion on offense. He has some good experience coaching QBs, which is something we OBVIOUSLY need. He has had a top 10 offense with Louiville...... Lets see what happens. He might be a good fit.

So what's his story? Think he'll turn our offense loose? Be innovative? Actually USE Shepard?

I think this will have as much to do with our success in 2011 as a new OC will.

ALMOST anything is better than having someone calling short side options and that ugly arse quick pick.
