I really dont understand this. A shotgun qb has to work on his mechanics just like if he was under center. I am more worried about his timing more so then his release. A would think a good quaterbacks coach would work on his mechanics regaurdless of what type of offense he runs. I think alot of off coor are also qb coachs if that is what you mean. If that is the case maybe crowton is not as good at developing qb's as we first thought. Or jarrett lee is just young and a work in progress???

there's a lot of connect b/w how you set up and throw and how the OC wants the play to unfold

a lot of spread OCs coach the QBs b/c it takes a certain style to succeed in the spread

what about throwing mechanics, release, and timing with the reciever??? Those sound like fundamentals that could be taught on a more personal level. A def coor does not have to teach a lineman how to shed blocks does he?? That would be the dline coach.

the problem of course is we can only have 3 offensive coaches.

line coach
recievers and tight ends
running backs

now that i think about it, we just don't have room for a quaterback coach

which other coach would you get rid of in order to have a dedicated QB coach?

Is bringing in someone to teach "clinics" acceptable / permitted ?????

...and yet not have someone on the staff full time.

remember jl was third string until rp was released and hatch got hurt. so he wasn't really supposed to be thrown in the fire so soon. he'll be fine next season.

The way Miles has his assistants set up....it would be hard to have a QB coach.
9 Total Assistants allowed
Offense
OC
Line Coach
TE Coach
WR Coach
RB Coach
If you added a QB coach, that would put 6 on offensive side of ball.
DC
DL Coach
LB Coach
DB Coach
That is 10...still have not covered ST Coach
