He can coach low post defense pretty well. Put Dikembe Mutombo, Alonzo Mourning, and Patrick Ewing in the league.

LSU: Sources tell FootballScoop that LSU is interested in veteran SEC coach John Thompson. Thompson was Nick Saban’s first defensive coordinator at LSU, but later accepted the defensive coordinator job at Arkansas (his home state). Thompson currently serves as the defensive coordinator at Georgia State.

why is he in the picture all of a sudden? this would be a bit of a thud after talk of D.Walker.

He was LSU's DC for about 30 minutes. I wouldn't let the guy on my campus if I were LSU. Besides, I think he is like Joe Lee Dunn; folks have him figured out.

The dude has a lot of history in and around LA and he worked with Coach O at Ole Miss, I hope this is not true but with some of his connections you never know.

he didn't actually make him cry, but the story has always been Saban cussed him out on a recruiting trip in North La. and Thompson quit

I'd rather a S.W.A.C. school DC or some mediocre DC from UCLA than Thompson. The guy has been everywhere and never lasts long at any one school. He's constantly on the move. There's a reason for that........

I agree - there must be a reason for all the moving around.

Bill Curry is the Head Coach, all players this year will red shirt. The campus is next to Ga Tech.

I prob. shoulda said that he went from big time SEC ball to a program that hasn't started playing yet (and that is gonna be 1AA I believe). It was just kinda surprising.

And State is actually down near the capitol/ underground. It's their old dorm the Village that's next to Tech, and I think Tech's taken it over.

I knew something with them was by Tech. I know a kid at Katy Taylor that will sign with them.
