Unless LSU goes 0-12 they will not fire Miles next year.
All you people that consider 9-3 or a possible 10-3 to be a failure of a season lack all common sense. The AD as LSU does not share your disdain for losing to the #1 and #5 team in the country.

I dont consider that a failure at all. I consider 7-5 or a 8-4 a failure.

Alleva's actions have made it pretty clear he's seeking stability in all his athletic programs. In the Cap One bowl presser he spoke of Penn State as the model program in college football. Seems like he might think Les is his Joe Pa.

If the AD at Penn State went off of the rationale of people in Louisiana, Joe Pa would have been fired long before he ever won the 1986 or 1994 National Championship. Below is a copy of his career record at Penn State.

I don't think it's that they don't remember. It's a couple of things IMO. Miles wasn't a big name when he was brought in, so there was no buzz around him like CUM or Wies or B. Kelley, etc. Miles also followed a very popular coach and that's hard for anyone to live up to expectations. Ex. Zook after Spurrier, Ron Prince after B. Snyder, etc. Miles has also proven to make some bone headed mistakes which have been hard to swallow like 05 UT and 09 Ole Miss. His SEC record is also starting to take a nose dive.
Miles' overall record has been pretty good, although his recent SEC record is scary. His recruiting has been top notch although he's lost out on the top LA recruit two of the past three years now. Also, he usually hires decent assistants and isn't afraid to let them go. I wasn't a big fan of the Chavis hire, but it was good that he at least made a move.
