Petrino gaining Arkie State momentum If that happens it will be interesting next year at JH.. Bruce Feldman. Bobby Petrino gaining momentum for Arkansas St vacancy, according to two sources this morning.
I hope he gets this job or another. That guy really needs to turn his life around. I wish him luck.

stAte has no business playing Arkansas its like Boise playing LSU. Will never happen. stAte is an afterthought except for a 25 mile radius in Arkansas.
The only way they'll ever play in any sport is if a NCAA Tournament makes it happen
I have never understood this arrogance. Everyone else plays instate games, why is Arky so afraid?

Yeah, we're quaking in our boots at the thought of playing State

If you lived in NWA or Central Ark you would get it.
Best way to describe it is this. There's no easy way to get to Jonesboro and nobody cares about Jonesboro.

It wouldn't bother me at all, but it doesn't excite me either. It's called "not giving a shite", but I do hope they hire a good coach who will stay more than 1 or 2 years. I don't hate stAte.

If you live in Arkansas you get it. The majority of people that go to stAte are razorback fans first.

I'd be all for skull fricking them in War Memorial once a year, for the only game we play in LR.

Ok. I have lived there. Still don't understand your superiority complex. For the record, nobody cares about Fayetteville either.

See, that's the spirit. I think that's a win for everyone in the state. Beats playing Jacksonville State or one of the directional Louisiana schools. Grow a pair and start a little bit of an in-state tradition.
Most of the rest of the continental US has done this for the better part of a century. You might enjoy it.

FWIW, I never have understood it either and I've lived in various areas around the state. Maybe I just have lower standards in the eyes of some. If that's the case, then I'm happy that I do.

I doubt either school really cares about playing each other.
Arkansas State played Oregon and Nebraska. Arkansas State isn't afraid to go out and play teams that are better than Arkansas.
Arkansas played UL Monroe and Jacksonville State. Arkansas already has a tough schedule with LSU and Alabama. When they can't beat UL Monroe then why would they want to play a team that would have torched their secondary.

Alabama won't play UAB because they're under the same system. UAB needs the money they get from playing big schools and Alabama paying them wouldn't make any sense at all; they'd just be shifting funds and not actually make any money

Sounds like a lame excuse. While both schools are in the same system, each would have its own athletic budget. So UAB would make money. I would think they wouldn't care that it came from Tuscaloosa.

We give them plenty of money they don't deserve each year. The surplus funds go back into the University, which helps fund UAB athletics
ETA: I wouldn't mind seeing us play UAB at UAB. It would give everyone another chance to see us at Legion Field again

I'd like to see a UAB-UAPB matchup sometime.
