Do they pay the salary for the Bradford M. Freeman Director of Football (Harbaugh's official title) out of the endowment? Because they've got more money than God.
possible, or one of their rich alums simply decided that they wanted to win

Maybe the guys at google want to see a winner. They can spare a couple hundred mil to make that happen.
For some reason I have a feeling they don't care about football. Maybe I'm wrong.

NFL network saying 49ers offering around 5 mil but with incentives Stanford could pay him more.
5m though is not what will end up our final offer. Expect between 6-7. Jed would stand to lose far more than 1 to 2m (including a new stadium, and this is the make-or-break year for that) by NOT getting the deal done, it would kill all of the energy that's built up surrounding the team and cause one hell of a backlash from the fanbase. As stupid as he is, he does realize that. He isn't going to end up being outbid by a college team.
Besides, Harbaugh has a lot to potentially lose in terms of being the hottest coaching commodity in a while. Good chance he wouldn't be as hot next year, or wouldn't be viewed as such. I think he'd get an NFL job next year even if Stanford was a let down, but he might not be THE guy like this again.
If Harbaugh was offered a mega deal from the Dolphins and still turned it down, I wonder if it's because Harbaugh's a BAMF and isn't doing it just for the money, or/and he really saw a ton wrong with that entire thing. I can't wait to find out. If he fooled us all and stays at Stanford he's a pimp.
C'mon York, finish.

You think? Everyone takes pride in where they went to school. Donations go through the roof when a BSC school does well. Harbaugh and Luck back means a top 5 start. With two top-ten teams in Oregon and LSU playing the first week, Stanford/Oregon will be a huge game once again.
