When did LSU touch Bianci inappropriately?

Why the vitriol towards us?

What's better about FSU?

I mean LSU isn't drastically different, it's not worth uprooting unless there is a previous connection (like Jimbo has) and the coach personally favors the other school. Jimbo may or may not, I don't know.

This article just screams insecurity. He's trying convince himself FSU is clearly the better job when in reality its whether what LSU can offer is worth uprooting.

If LSU is willing to offer $1mil more annually than FSU it seems LSU is the better job. If LSU gives him more money for assistants then LSU seems like the better job. If FSU matches what LSU is willing to pay then he probably won't leave and that would mean they are equal.

I don't feel like going through an entire program comparison but LSUs football program is as good or better in every category: Revenue+, history+, salaries+, atmosphere+, recruiting base ~, brand~.

There was a time, from the early 90s to 2001, when he would have been correct. However, all of the advantages that Bowden had recruiting before everyone made that a priority, and playing in the ACC when it really was bad are gone. FSU is a great program, but they are one of a larger pool these days. Surprising as it is, Clemson is level with them now, and Louisville and UNC are climbing the ladder. As for money and recruiting, every serious program in the P5 has money and recruits at a high level now.

This is just a tired, 10 year old argument set up to play to hard core FSU fans and get clicks.

I sent him this:

As a Florida guy I don't expect you to understand, but you're pretty much on your own in thinking Florida State is better than any SEC job, including LSU. You say Jimbo should stay at FSU because it's easier to win. Well, did you ever consider that Jimbo is not one to puss out and stay where it's comfortable? That maybe he thinks he's a good enough coach to take on the best and wants to push himself to be the best he can be?

The LSU job presents a tremendous challenge-one that all elite coaches should crave. You really think Jimbo wants no part of that? That he wants to avoid heavy competition? To me, that's actually kind of insulting. He's coached at LSU and still has a great relationship with them and Louisiana. To think it's unrealistic for LSU to land Jimbo is, in my opinion--and as you put it, arrogant. Your article seems like a desperate plea for him to stay. You're obviously entitled to your opinion-it's your job. But you call LSU snobby and arrogant...so what do you call your article?

ETA: Thanks OP for posting it so I didn't actually have to click the article.

Bianchi is a journalist who loves to say things to incite readers. He loves to be "opinionated and controversial."

He says just enough nice things about FSU so that he can claim to be unbiased.

Bianchi knows less about what is going on between LSU and Jimbo than I know. And, I know nothing.

Yes but everything is relative and still tiered.

^ This is Football Program not Athletic Department.

I feel LSU will put more money into what he wants to invest in as a program. We have more to lose and more to gain IMO.

Bianchi is from a small town east of Gainesville called Melrose. He is a lousy Gator and Thus hates LSU with a passion.

He writes his editorials to stir the pot so he then has something to talk about on sports radio in the afternoon. He's a typical Gainesville liberal who thinks the world revolves around that crappy little town.

Strange he chose to throw this out in his melt, trying to make it seem like LSU has no historical relevance. FSU only has two modern era (BCS and beyond) NCs, and the third one was in 1993. Yet they all wanted to run off Bowden, the only coach worth a damn that ever came through that place before Jimbo, because they "thought they should be playing for it every year".

Not only is LSU a better program than FSU is in today's college football landscape, they are historically much more significant. Between 1905 and 1947, FSU was the Florida State College for Women and didn't even have a football team.

fricking melt, bitch.

I just heard that idiot on Finebaum, that loser is an idiot! He not only hates the SEC, he also hates LSU with a passion. Even Finebaum dismissed that loser as being an idiot.

That is what Tallahassee sports radio is saying as well. They said LSU is a step down and that there are only a few jobs better than FSU.
