True in theory. However, it may not be a pay cut to come to LSU from the unemployment line. He may be on the way out, as Payton is rumored to be overhauling the defensive staff. However, he is a possible holdover, if he wants to stay.

Good point, as I don't know exactly what it is. He never coached in the NFL before this year, so I don't know how much longevity credit they give him, but I must assume that he makes in the $300k range. He probably still has some buyout money from Ole Miss, but I don't recall the details about that.
