So from what i understood, last season LSU had gotten pretty far down the road with Jimbo before the LSU President, etc decided that it was bad politically to fire Miles at that time. Obviously this meant we would not get Jimbo. However the understanding was that LSU BLINKED.

If you listen to Finebaum his narrative is that Miles was retained last year because Jimbo decided to stay at FSU. This left them with no options so they stayed with Miles. So JIMBO BLINKED.

Which story is true?

Hopefully the latter because I'd rather Herman

Finebaum frames things to suit his narrative

it was pretty much agreed on, but they got cold feet at the last second and kept les

this is the truth. of course, many, many fans don't want to believe this and probably never will. the adm took the blame and looked foolish but what else could they do? the state getting involved was a subterfuge to save face and it worked with many, many fans.

Fisher got cold feet on the day we played the aggies; Miles was gone.

Here is the deal though. That is what folks on our side would say regardless of its truth.

FSU folks and Jimbo folks are gonna say Jimbo decided to stay.

I just wanna what the actual truth is.

anybody who listens to Finebaum is not serious about reality or intelligence.

LSU had Jimbo; it was nixed by F king Alexander and possibly the governor.

Im betting you have a clearer answer in 3 months.

If Jimbo was ready and LSU backed out...he won't come here after that IMO.

So if someone other than Herman or Jimbo is HC in December/January, I'd say they had him last season and they cut bait and lost him this time

JMO I have no insider on this topic
