This whole ordeal has been like me playing the lottery. For a couple of bucks you can day dream about the "What if's" and the next day nothing in you life has changed for the better or worse.........but it sure is fun to day dream

To carry that metaphor to its logical extension, it's like playing the lottery and Nick Saban winning it... each year of his new contract.

well all I can say is that the person who told me was 100% confident in this going down. Did it turn out that way?

no, not at this time.

no reason to be mad at me though. Saban just got an extra 2 mil a year right after losing to AUBURN

Based on what? A few unconfirmed reports form "sources" tweeted out by a guy who covers TCU sports? Last week we were told by our own sources that Saban was working on a new multi-year deal. We were laughed at. This week...we were told by our own sources that Saban had no intention of leaving Alabama for any other job. We were laughed at. Now that Saban has agreed to and signed a contract, you are telling me that this move to Texas was more reality than rumor? Don't make me laugh.

Saban was on the recruiting trail all week. Every top recruit he visited asked him if the rumors about Texas were true. Each and every time he told them no. He told AJ McCarron after AJ joked with him about it that there was nothing to the rumors. His wife was just on record two weeks ago saying they were staying at Alabama. There is so much evidence in favor of him never having entertained an offer from Texas it's not even funny. What evidence is there of him actually entertaining an offer from Texas? A mysterious tweet from a TCU beat writer based off some anonymous source at Texas?

You guys are beyond gullible it's not even funny.

My source is on the UT side...I never said that Nick was definitely leaving Alabama... I think I am in the clear!

No problem reporting what sources tell. Mine were telling me no way, Texas was never in play. Mine were very very close to the decision. Saban was also boxed in with the Miami situation. He didn't want to make that mistake again.

UT sources were floating bad information to manipulate the Brown decision.

It was in one of the many threads on the Rant. It was supposed to be an aside deal some billionaire threw in.
