This is a huge hire. Guy worked under Larry Johnson for a few years.

He led the nation with his defensive line getting 4 sacks a game last year...

I was hoping LSU would get this guy. Damn that sucks. Good hire for Ole Piss.

Great hire. Really had my hopes up for LSU getting him.

Think he'll be a hot DC/HC candidate someday.

He is a very good hire, but LSU did just as well or better on this one. I don’t see where either fanbase could be disappointed in who they got for DL.

You might be right, or maybe having a personal connection with Faulk and Jones gave Carter a leg up.

Maybe Ole Miss offered more money, or a better title.

Andre Carter is who Jones wanted plus Ed likes NFL experience since his past hires with NFL experience were great.

New DC Wanted Carter, he worked with him before, gotta surround yourself with guys you know can coach, and can actually work together, bottom line, Lsu defense should be much better than last season, I know, it wont take much to accomplish that after Bo, LOL.. but we should be fine with a spring and actual practices to get acclimated with the new defense, I really feel like Jones was a good hire to help limit the air raid college football has become, him and CR should gel nicely.

Carter and Joyner are both very good hires for each program. Flip flop them and still great hires for both programs.

I'm just happy to have a head coach make hires that aren't downgrades. OM has had a horrible time finding replacements for coordinators and position coaches over the years. It seems like Freeze almost always downgraded with his replacements.

I mean, in his defense his initial group of coordinators and coaches were pretty damn strong so there was almost no shot he could hire someone better.

Losing Tom Allen was the worst thing that could have happened to our defense.
