Seth Littrell and Neal Brown seem like obvious fits here and I doubt it goes beyond Brown. Will be interesting to see if they try to shift philosophies though

I can’t remember who, but a national writer said their top target is the Clemson DC. There’s a connection with the current AD.

Yes. I would be really interested to see how it worked considering Tech isn’t going to get top flight recruits but also won’t be getting bottom level.

He coached at OU for years so he knows the Big 12 but it seems like the conference has jumped the shark since then.
Would be interesting to see both Kansas and Texas Tech go to a ball control defense first philosophy.

Before Littrel turned into a jobber in conference I feel like he was a lock for this spot.

Tech AD Kirby Hocutt and Venables played together at Kansas State. Another name that has been mentioned if Tech goes with a defensive coach is Jim Leavitt, who coached Hocutt at KSU.
