Congrats to the Ags. Great hire. You guys can afford it so why not fricking do it.
I for one am extremely disappointed as an LSU fan. Another huge obstacle in our division.

Jimbo peaked late 2000's and ended in 2014. He won the ACC 3X in 8 years when it was a bad conference. Now that Miami and Clemson are leading the charge, he fell off.
He is going to have a difficult time in College Station recruiting against Gary P, Herman, Coach O, Saban, Malzahn, etc.
I expect him to take this as a huge retirement bonus and will pour out nice 8-4 and 10-2 like seasons. If he thought the ACC was tough, wait until he begins game planning for this schedule:
9/8/18-Clemson
9/22- At Bama
10/13 - At USCe
10/27- MSU
11/3- At Auburn
11/10- Ole Miss
11/24- LSU
He's probably going to be confused and wonder why Texas A&M is now in the AFC.

I get your point, but obviously no, Saban won a natty at LSU and had just failed at the next level. Everyone KNEW Bama was about to explode, just no one expected them to play in like 7 NC games and go on 30 game SEC win streaks.

Too bad that didnt happen because we lost to fricking Troy.
We went 9-3 with the easiest schedule we have had in years, a senior QB, arguably the best RB in the country, and a #14 ranked defense.

Compare it to the other power 5 conferences. A team we beat is #2 in country because everyone has L's.

He's got Clemson, Bama, USC, Auburn, LSU, MSU on the slate. He would have gone 0-6 in those games this year, in the program HE BUILT for a decade.

We really don't know much about how it's structured yet. Also, who's to say what the market will be for coaches over the next 10 years. High end salaries have more than doubled over the last 10 years in CFB.

ACC is pretty solid top to bottom of late, but overall the SEC is still more difficult. Not really debatable.

It's so ridiculous. Now our fans are proud of a head coach that's essentially dead weight.
Orgeron making $3.5m to clap his hands up and down the sideline is a much bigger robbery than what Jimbo did.
